Deer season has panned out pretty well for us. Jeff took two weeks off to hunt the rut in order to fill his tags. The first week and a half was rough with Jeff having to search hard for deer in general. On the 4th, he managed to take a nice forked horn with eyeguards. Then, back into a buck finding slump he went. When his buddy Drew came along, things got better and both were able to tag out on the 13th and 14th. Jeff took a spike to get the meat collection started. Within an hour of the spike, Drew got the monster 3 point. Later in the day, Jeff got a whopper forked horn. The next day found Jeff and Drew at it again, where Drew took a spike, and Jeff took another forked horn to fill a friend's freezer. Cyndi showed her expertise the next week when she took her 2x3. Danielle had her hunting trip too, but I'm unsure of the size of buck she took at the local deer celebration.
